2008 BMW R 1200 RT
This is my “A bike”, the one I ride most often. Since I purchased it in Fall of 2008 I’ve become accustomed to it’s comfort, power and reliability and nothing else I’ve ridden really compares. It is a great looking bike as well and it still amazes how many people comment on it when I am stopped. My longest ride on it so far is a 2400 mile rount trip, with one of those days covering over 700 miles. I think this offers testimony to the comfort issue!

2006 BMW F 650 GS
The F650 is a dual sport bike, suitable for use on both dirt roads as well as pavement. Its not a “dirt bike” by definition and is not suitable for very rough terrain but it handles fire roads very nicely. It is also amazingly nimble on the pavement and is a hoot to ride in the twisties! Here is a Fourth of July weekend shot up in Cedar Breaks National Park at about 10,500 feet elevation.
1977 BMW R 100 RS
I acquired this bike in 1999 and am it’s second owner. The R100RS was the first true production superbike. It was the only new bike you could buy with a full frame mounted fairing. It features a very racy riding position and you can tuck in behind the fairing quite neatly. It has a 1000 cc two cylinder engine that puts out 60 hp. It was mostly a conventional bike by design but represented the highest expression of the then current technology. As such, it cost $5000 new at a time when similar British and European bikes cost half as much. The Japanese had nothing that was in this class at the time.

My Slash 2 as these bikes are called was also aquired in 1999 and I am it’s third owner. It is unrestored and completely original with the exception of some rubber components and the mufflers. It is a very low miles bike with only 8000 original miles on the speedometer. It sports a 600 cc twin cylinder engine with 30 horsepower. It will pull the sidecar up to about 65 mph. The sidecar is a 1967 Watsonian Monza which is originally an old British model but is currently based in southern California. It is also original except for upholstery and a few replacement parts. It has a convertible top that can be put up in case of rain.

Nice photos!
I’ve never seen a Zundapp like that. It reminds me of a Jawa or ESO. I used to have a Rickman Zundapp, but only rode it a couple times.
I now ride a BMW 650 Dakar. And I also have my dad’s 1957 R60 that hasn’t been started in 35 years. Needs a little restoration. heh. Understatement.
